Assessment, DSA guidance and ongoing support to help you study with confidence
Struggling to keep up with reading, writing, deadlines or focus, despite putting the effort in. You are not alone. Many students have underlying learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD or autism that only become obvious when academic demands increase. At Dyslexia Test Centre, we provide a clear, structured pathway to help you understand how you learn, access the support available to you, and succeed in your studies.

Do you need support?
Are you finding studying challenging
You may benefit from support if you:
read slowly or struggle to retain information
find writing difficult to structure or complete
miss deadlines or feel overwhelmed by workload
struggle with focus, organisation or time management
find lectures hard to follow or take notes from
suspect dyslexia, ADHD or autism
already have a diagnosis but don’t know how to apply it to studying
If this sounds familiar, the right support can make a significant difference.
Study skills help
Practical support for GCSE, A-level, university and independent study
Study skills support can help you turn recommendations into routines that work for you. We can help with:
planning revision and breaking work into manageable steps
organising assignments and getting started
note-taking, reading and remembering key information
time management, deadlines and workload
preparing for exams and using assistive technology
applying recommendations if you already have a diagnosis
This support can complement an assessment, DSA guidance or aftercare. We’ll start with the demands of your course and the areas that feel hardest.

Preparing for university or already on your course?
You can ask about dyslexia testing before starting university or while you are studying. Tell us about reading, written assignments, note-taking and deadlines, along with any previous reports. Ask your disability or student support team what evidence they require.
Dyslexia assessment and DSA: what is the difference?
A diagnostic dyslexia assessment identifies and explains learning difficulties. It is separate from a DSA needs assessment, which considers study support. Your student finance body decides eligibility and evidence requirements; a report does not automatically mean funding is awarded.
Check official DSA evidence guidance for England and speak to your university disability team about the process relevant to you.
